The company claims that with the new service, it will be the only multipurpose liner operator to connect mainland China to the South Pacific.
The upgraded service will connect mainland China to the South Pacific with direct port calls to Suva and Lautoka. In addition, it will offer fast transit times to the South Pacific ports of Majuro, Tarawa, Pago Pago, Apia, Nuku’alofa and Santo.
“The Pacific Rim is a key market to Swire Shipping. We will be boosting our services by increasing our carrying capacity for both breakbulk and containerised cargo,” said Jeremy Sutton, general manager for liner trades at Swire Shipping.
The enhanced port rotation will be Shimizu, Qingdao, Busan, Yokohama, Majuro, Tarawa, Pago Pago, Apia, Nuku’alofa, Suva, Lautoka, Santo, Honiara, Tarawa, Majuro, and back to Shimizu.
