Ro-con vessel Bahri Abha called at Jaxport’s Blount Island Marine Terminal and loaded vehicles and other cargoes bound for the Middle East. The vessel is the first of six new multi-purpose cargo vessels, which Bahri has ordered for service between the US East Coast, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian subcontinent.
Bahri executives said that the addition of Jaxport to the vessels’ rotation will not only allow access to a larger target market but will also assist the carrier in improving vessel utilisation. “The addition of Bahri to our growing list of customers is another indication of Jaxport’s reputation globally and the major efficiencies and economies we offer the industry,” said Jaxport Interim ceo Roy Schleicher.
Bahri General Cargo's current port rotation is Baltimore (import), Houston, Jacksonville, Savannah, Charleston, Wilmington (NC), Baltimore (export), New York, Halifax, Jeddah (eastbound), Jebel Ali, Dammam, Mesaieed, Mumbai, Mundra, Jeddah (westbound) and Livorno.
