CSAV to implement restructure from 1 July

CSAV to implement restructure from 1 July
Compania Sud Americana de Vapores (CSAV) announced in a statement that starting 1 July, it will reorganise its structure by separating each of its business units.

CSAV will see all activities related to the containerised cargo business get integrated under one subsidiary company to operate the container liner services.

As part of this reorganisation, the operations of CSAV liner services will be transferred to two carriers of the CSAV Group. The majority will fall under Norasia Container Lines Ltd. (NCLL). The CSAV Austral SpA (SUAU) services operating under the Chilean flag (Andino and Conosur) will go to Empresa de Transporte Sudamericana Austral Ltda.

Both NCLL and Empresa de Transporte Sudamericana Austral Ltda are authorised to operate container line services in the markets the company currently serves. NCLL’s B/L terms and conditions are consistent with market practices, without any significant changes to CSAV's B/L terms and conditions, said CSAV statement.

The two carriers will trade under the CSAV name and logo, and use current B/L Terms and Conditions of Norasia Container Lines Ltd. (NCLL).

The Chilean liner added that Libra Brazil (CLIB) and Libra Uruguay (CPLB) will continue to operate in the same way as today.

CSAV will start phasing in this new structure effective 1 July this year, and vessels which voyages start on that date will be offered under the above-mentioned carriers. The details of the vessels that will begin to operate under the new structure in each service are available through its commercial network.
