GAC Group has announced the opening of its 11th branch office at the port of Fortaleza, in Northeast Brazil.

A growing focus on clean product imports has driven GAC Brazil’s further expansion into the northeast of the country. GAC is the world’s leading provider of global Shipping, Logistics and Marine services.

“The capital of Ceara state as well as a major port city, Fortaleza has been identified as strategic to GAC’s growth serving the country’s LNG import market in the coming years,” said Luciana Laranjeiras, GAC Brazil’s Commercial Northeast.

The new office is located in between GAC’s existing northeast bases in São Luis and Recife, and also covers ship agency operations at the nearby Mururipe and the Pecém port complexes.

“This is the latest stage of our local strategy in the Brazilian clean products market, covering the major north-east states that import diesel and other clean products. Customers benefit from our local agency service boosted by our Intel assistance including daily port line-ups,” commented Rodrigo Kill, GAC Brazil’s Shipping Manager.

GAC now operates in the Brazilian shipping and logistics markets with headquarters in São Paulo and 10 other branch offices across the country.

“GAC’s continued growth in northeastern Brazil strengthens our commitment to be where our customers need us in South America. The new Fortaleza office will be an important contribution to our global network as well as our local shipping clients,” explained Bob Bandos, GAC Group Vice President – Americas.
