HMM seventh container line to join NYSHEX

A seventh container line – Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) – has joined the New York Shipping Exchange (NYSHEX).

HMM joins Maersk Line, Cosco Shipping, CMA CGM, Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) and Hapag-Lloyd on the platform that provides contracting between shippers and lines. The South Korean line will start posting offers for the westbound transpacific trade on the platform from 6 August.

Lawrence Burns, senior vice president of trades and sales for HMM said: “HMM is focused on digital solutions that allow our customers to work online similar to how they live their daily lives. NYSHEX has created an easy to use healthy industry solution that significantly reduces inefficiencies, contracting complexity with a fixed all-in rate and delivers unmatched reliability for our customers’ global shipments.”
