MOL inks 20-year contract for world's largest FSRU
Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL) has inked a 20-year charter contract with Gas Sayago of Uruguay for the world’s largest FSRU.

MOL subsidiary Lakler signed the contract with Gas Sayago, a joint venture between Uruguay's state oil company ANCAP and state power company UTE, for the charter of the FSRU from the first half of 2018. The contract is subject to Uruguay government approval which is expected by the end of the year.

The FSRU, currently under construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, will feature a 263,000 cu m storage tank, largest on any FSRU in the world.

The FSRU is equipped with the capability of re-loading LNG cargo to shuttle tankers as well as sending gas through pipelines. This will allow re-export services and LNG bunkering.
