Petrobras charters Damen-built OSRVs for $130m

Petrobras charters Damen-built OSRVs for $130m
Compagnie Maritime Monégasque (CMM) has secured a charter contract for five of its newbuild Oil Spill Response Vessels (OSRVs) to Petrobras, for $130m.

The four-year contract is mutually extendable for a further four-year period.

“This is our second Brazil project and we look forward to further building and developing our partnership with Petrobras,” said CMM ceo Christophe Vancauwenbergh. “CMM’s track record in managing and executing projects of this nature, working closely with the client, was key to our success in securing this contract.”

Each of the vessels will be equipped with Damen’s Sea Axe design, which offer heightened speed and stability in rough seas, and which the company claims will halve the time necessary to reach offshore oil platforms.
