Rolls-Royce wins Brazil equipment contract
Brazilian shipyard Aliança S/A Industria Naval e Empresa de Navegacao, has contracted Rolls-Royce to equip two UT 535 E Oil Spill Response Vessels for shipowner Asgaard Navegação S.A.

Propulsion systems, thrusters, Dynamic Positioning systems, power electrical systems, automation and control systems, deck machinery and MTU engines will be supplied by Rolls-Royce in an arrangement worth £11m.

“We are very pleased that Asgaard have chosen Rolls-Royce design and integrated systems for their new offshore vessels,” Anders Almestad, Rolls-Royce, president- Offshore, said. “Asgaard is a new customer to us and working closely together with them during the construction of these advanced vessels will be vital. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with Asgaard.” 

The vessels are due for delivery in 2015, with an option to build two more.
