Scorpio Bulkers offloads six capesizes for $227m

Scorpio Bulkers offloads six capesizes for $227m
Scorpio Bulkers is selling off a further six capesizes as the dry bulk market remains highly depressed.

New York-listed Scorpio said it was selling two capesizes currently on the water and four newbuildings under construction to an undisclosed buyer for $227m.

Of the four newbuildings, one but in China was due for delivery in Q4 2015, and the three other being built at Korean yards are expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2016.

Scorpio currently owns 28 vessels, consisting of three capesizes, 10 kamsarmaxes and 15 ultramaxes with an average age of 0.4 years. It has a further 26 vessels on order.
