The handymax tanker STI Pimlico belonging to Scorpio Tankers was involved in a collision with a Celestyal Cruises vessel on early Saturday morning off Gallipoli.

No injuries were reported as a result of the collision.

Pictures from the collision show that the tanker was holed by the bow of the 1990-built Celestyal Cruise resulting in a naphtha spill according to reports. The 38,000 dwt, 2014-built, STI Pimlico was reported to have had cargo of 30,000 tonnes of naphtha onboard. Pictures and video showed salvage tugs cooling the area of the area of the collision on the tanker.

The Dardenelles was briefly closed by the Turkish authorities following the collision.

All 853 passengers were evacuated from the cruise ship, along with 382 crew.
