Sevan Marine investigates Petrobras corruption claims

Sevan Marine has employed a law firm to investigate claims that a former manager and agent at the firm was involve in corruption in Brazil.

The company has employed Selmer to investigate claims in the Brazilian media that its employee is connected with high-level corruption case "Operation Car Wash".

The case involves claims that multiple contracts involving Petrobras were overpriced, and that the surplus funds were either pocketed by involved parties or used to pay off officials and politicians. Specific claims from former c-suite Petrobras executives, leaked to the media last year, involve Brazlian president and former Petrobras chairman of the board, Dilma Rousseff.

Sevan has stated that it is fully cooperating with authorities. Other international offshore marine companies named in the Brazilian press in relation to bribery at Perobras and its subsidiaries in include Sembcorp Marine, Keppel Offshore & Marine and SBM Offshore.
