Salvage firm contains oil rig lightning fire in GoM
A fire on an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico has been contained by salvage firm T&T.

A firefighting team based in Galveston was dispatched aboard a 95ft Fast Response Vessel and salvage support barge Curtis T, after lightning struck the unmanned rig and caused it to burst into flames. The fire was contained using high-capacity fire pumps and a cache of firefighting foam.

According to a company statement, there were no casualties and no significant reports of pollution made following the incident.
