MMHE picks up $122m in new contracts
Offshore fabricator Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) has gained some reprieve from revenue pressure, securing a contract for offshore structure fabrication works in the Kumang Cluster gas field in Sarawak, as well as several works packages for the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project totalling MYR527m ($122.4m), it said in a stock market release.

The first contract from Petronas Carigali Sdn Bhd was for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the wellhead platform topside and jacket, the telecommunications and instrumentation system tie-ins of the new F12 platform as well as existing platforms

.The F12 facilities are located in the Kumang Cluster gas field, offshore Bintulu, Sarawak.MMHE has also secured four works packages for onshore work at the massive Rapid project in Pengerang, Johor with several contractors. The contracts consist of piping fabrication, electro-mechanical and structural works. The jobs are due for completion in end-2016 and mid-2017 variously.

“We are doing our level best to continue replenishing our work order. With these latest contracts, MMHE has now secured an estimated MYR975m worth of projects for the year to-date.

“We continue to be on the lookout for offshore and onshore projects, as well as for marine repair works, both domestically and internationally,” said MMHE md Abu Fitri Abdul Jalil.
