Awilco declares option for 2nd $425m rig at Keppel FELS

Awilco Drilling has declared an option for a second semi-submersible drilling rig newbuilding at Keppel FELS in Singapore.

The UK-based company has declared the first of three options for a $425m CS60 ECO MW semi-submersible drilling rig.

Designed to operate in harsh environments, and equipped and certified for drilling on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including in the Barents Sea, the rig is scheduled to be delivered in late Q1 2022.

Awilco ordered a similar rig for $425m from Keppel FELS earlier this month and has options for two more rigs.
