Bahri ordered five VLCCs plus five options at the Korea yard in May and latest move sees the Saudi Arabian shipowner brings it firm orders to ten 300,000 dwt tankers.
The additional VLCCs are due to be delivered in 2017 and 2018. Financial details of the contract were not disclosed.
“The signing of these contracts is for continuous renewal of the current fleet to meet the needs of the local and global markets,” Bahri said.
The 10 new vessels will bring Bahri’s VLCC fleet to 41.
