The classification society held a reception at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel with guests including Ambassador of Japan to Singapore, His Excellency Kenji Shinoda who gave an honorary address followed by a congratulatory address by assistant chief executive of Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, Tan Beng Tee.
ClassNK founded its office in Singapore in 1967.
Giving the opening address at the reception Koichi Fujiwara, chairman of ClassNK said: “I am truly honored that ClassNK Singapore has been able to share this history of growth with Singapore and Singaporeans for these past 50 years. At the same time, I sincerely appreciate the support and cooperation of the maritime community here.”
