Crown Ocean bags deal to build six OSVs

Crown Ocean bags deal to build six OSVs
Chinese yard Fujian Crown Ocean Shipbuilding Industry bagged an order to build six offshore support vessels (OSVs) scheduled for delivery at the start of 2014.

The Export-Import Bank of China has agreed in April to provide Crown Ocean with a loan of RMB100m ($16.25m) and credit facility of RMB700m to support the construction of the anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, which were bought by an unnamed Hong Kong shipowner.

The price tags of the DP1-capable OSVs were not disclosed.

In the first four months of this year, Crown Ocean chalked up an orderbook value worth RMB612.54m comprising of multipurpose vessels and dry bulk carriers. The yard is also actively negotiating more deals to build OSVs and 200-person capacity passenger vessels.
