The vessels are scheduled to be delivered in the middle of 2014.
“The newbuildings Epic has now contracted will allow us to selectively replace the older tonnage in our existing fleet in due course and to offer our customers an even wider choice of modern high quality ships,” said Lars Vang Christensen, ceo of Epic.
Late last month, Epic ordered a pair of 5,000 cu m LPG carriers from another Japanese shipbuilder Sasaki Shipyard.
Epic has a fleet of more than 20 vessels serving the international gas and petrochemical markets.
