Evergreen to add two boxships into Asia-Europe service
Taipei: Evergreen Marine, Taiwan's leading container line, will add two new containerships into its Far East-Europe service in late April.

The newbuildings, Ever Liven and Ever Logic of 8,452 teu each, will soon be delivered by South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).

The L-type containerships are expected to offer greater flexibility for Evergreen in deploying its services for the various markets.

“In addition to the east-west long-haul trades from Asia to Europe and North America, L-type ships can be employed on north-south routes linking Asia to South Africa and South America,” Evergreen said.

Evergreen commenced its new shipbuilding programme in 2010 with an order for 20 L-type vessels from SHI. In 2011, Evergreen ordered a further 10 vessels of the same specification from Taiwan's CSBC Corp. Eighteen of the 30 newbuildings are expected to be delivered by the end of 2013.
