The contract with Det norske is for rigid pipelay and related subsea work in the Ivar Aasen field in the Norwegian North Sea. Project management and engineering work will commence immediately and completion is scheduled in 2016.
The contract is attached with an option for EMAS AMC to procure and install a subsea power cable connecting the neighbouring Edvard Grieg platform to the Ivar Aasen platform.
“The Ivar Aasen field is one of the largest oil discoveries on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in recent years. This win is the result of our committed strategy to become a leading global subsea construction player and validates our focus on our global subsea operations,” said Lionel Lee, managing director and group ceo of Singapore-based Ezra.
EMAS AMC also secured a job from Statoil for the transport and installation of subsea templates for the Norwegian Sea's deepest offshore project – the Aasta Hansteen field development.
The offshore transport and installation work will take place in 2015.
