G6 Alliance anticipates bleak winter
The G6 alliance is to pull eight Asia-Europe sailings over the winter in response to an anticipated fall in demand.

The dropped voyages, which would have taken place between late October 2013 and February 2014, include five Asia-North Europe services and three Asia-Mediterranean services.

Asia-North Europe services to be cancelled include a Loop 7 service due to call Qingdao 28 October; a Loop 4 service ETA Ningbo 22 November; two loop 6 services, due to call Kaohsiung 25 November and 10 February ‘14; and a Loop 1 service due to call Kobe on 3 January ’14.

Meanwhile cancelled Asia-Med services included three EUM-route sailings which would have called Pusan 27 October, 24 November and February 9 ’14.

“The G6 Alliance continues to offer a variety of services between the Far East and Europe covering all major port pairs with weekly sailings,” the group said in a statement.
