GE Shipping sells elderly product carrier
Mumbai: India-based Great Eastern Shipping (GE Shipping) has offloaded a 1988-built general purpose product carrier.

The 29,900-dwt carrier named Jag Parwar will be delivered to an unnamed new owner in the first quarter of 2014, according to GE Shipping.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Estimates suggested the old product carrier could be valued at approximately $2.7m.

After the deal, GE Shipping's fleet will stand at 33 ships comprising 23 tankers (nine crude carriers, 13 product carriers, one LPG carrier) and 10 dry bulk carriers (one capesize, three kamsarmaxes, one panamax, four supramaxes, one handymax) with an average age of 10 years aggregating 2.6m dwt.
