Heerema inks LOI with Jurong Shipyard for world's largest crane vessel
Jurong Shipyard has received an exclusive letter of intent (LOI) from Heerema Offshore Services to build the largest new semi-submersible crane vessel (NSCV) in the world.

The 214 m long by 97.5 m wide vessel will be equipped with two Huisman heavy-lifting cranes with 10,000 tonnes capacity. The vessel will be powered with dual-fuel engines for marine gas oil and LNG and equipped with DP3.

“Our letter of intent with Jurong Shipyard represents the next critical step in our plans to introduce the NSCV to the market,” said Jan Pieter Klaver, ceo of parent company Heerema Marine Contractors. “The fact that we decided to press on with our plans in these times of low oil prices, shows our belief in the offshore oil and gas industry and demonstrates our continued commitment to offer unparalleled installation services to the industry.”
