While acknowledging that the global logistics and liner trade has been severely disrupted by the bankruptcy of the major Korean line, HKCTOA said it is doing all it can to help affected parties.
As at 14 September, over 1,200 Hanjin containers have been picked up HKCTOA said. Of these, the largest single shipment consisted of 46 containers. Priority was placed on necessities and high value cargoes such as electronic products and perishables.
"We understand this is a difficult time for the logistics industry and we are closely monitoring the situation," HKCTOA said. "The Hong Kong Port is renowned for its high service delivery standards and our terminal members are offering all possible assistance to stakeholders to minimise the disruptions to their supply chain," it added.
"We will continue to facilitate the affected parties in efficient operation of the Hanjin crisis," the association concluded.
