The East Asia port handled 1.49m teu of containers last month, a 8.8% decline compared to 1.64m teu moved in February 2012.
Throughput also dropped 24.8% month-on-month from 1.99m teu moved in January this year, according to statistics from the Hong Kong Marine Department.
In the first two months of 2013, Hong Kong recorded total throughput of 3.48m teu, down 4.3% compared to 3.64m teu in the same period of 2012.
Last year, Hong Kong registered an annual throughput of 23.12m teu, a decrease from 24.38m teu recorded in 2011.
