Hong Kong transport secretary UK visit a ‘good gesture’
Highlighting the importance the new Hong Kong administration is placing on the maritime industry, HKInvest head of transportation and industrial Benjamin Wong said it was a good gesture for the new Transport and Housing Secretary Frank Chan to make the trip specially for the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maritime London.

"London's relationship with Hong Kong is different from other places; London's reputation as an international maritime centre is undisputed and this combines with the UK's historic connection with Hong Kong, so to have this MOU is more meaningful than many others," Wong told Seatrade Maritime News.

The MoU was signed earlier this week to foster collaboration between Hong Kong and London in promoting the maritime industry and high value-added maritime services.
