Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding is to co-operate with two of the world’s leading classification societies DNV GL and Bureau Veritas (BV) to jointly develop LNG market.

Hudong Zhonghua has inked agreement with DNV GL to jointly develop the world largest 270,000 cu m LNG ship. Additionally, the shipyard also signed a contract with DNV GL to class a 15,000 teu container vessel conversion to LNG propulsion. In February 2019, Hudong Zhonghua bagged the first LNG power system conversion order for large-sized container vessel from the ship owner Hapag-Lloyd.

Meanwhile, the shipyard signed development agreement with BV for 220,000 cu m FLNG to provide solutions for oil & gas exploration in South China Sea and offshore LNG exploration projects globally.

Hudong Zhonghua said it maintains a closely collaborative approach with BV on LNG supply vessel and LNG-powered vessel development. The cooperation between the two parties aims to promote the development of large-sized FLNG in China.
