Indonesia puts out tenders for $1bn Patimban Port construction
The Indonesian government has opened the much awaited tender process for the IDR13.7trn ($1bn) construction of the Patimban Port in Subang, West Java, local media reported.

The Indonesian Transportation Ministry’s Patimban Port construction team was cited as saying that three packages were being offered, for the terminal, breakwater and seawall and connecting breach.

Winning bids are expected to be announced in March and construction is set to begin in early April, with only one bidding company expected to be awarded one package each.

The Transportation Ministry is also expected to put out a tender for a private operator to help run the port with state-owned port operator Pelindo II.

The construction of the port's key car terminal is expected to be completed in March 2019, while the whole Patimban project is expected to be completed in by the end of that year.
