This range of high quality and long-life batteries from Furukawa Battery have been accepted for use on classed vessels by ClassNK, according to EMP.
Three main battery types will be used by EMP as part of its solution packages named Aquarius Marine Solar Power and Aquarius MAS + Solar.
There are the Valve Regulated Lead Acid batteries for small marine solar power applications, the Furukawa Cycle Power series battery units for renewable energy applications, and the Ultra Battery series for smart grid, wind power, solar power applications on ships, and for new shipbuilding projects.
“We look forward to working with EMP to promote our batter technologies and expand our market share for energy storage in the shipping and maritime sectors,” said Kodaka, general manager, international business department at Furukawa Battery.
