Jusuf Kalla-linked firm to build massive port in Makassar
Indonesian vice-president Jusuf Kalla-linked Kalla Group is reportedly building what will be the biggest docking port for ships in eastern Indonesia at Makassar in South Sulawesi.

Jamal Manrafi Daud, marketing operations manager of Kalla Group subsidiary Bumi Lintas Tama, was quoted by local media as saying the port would be built on a 100-hectare parcel of land in Suppa, Pinrang regency, in partnership with a Japanese maritime company. The investment value was not disclosed.

“The infrastructure needs of the maritime sector has pushed us to try out this business,” Kalla Group president director Fatimah Kalla said.
