Kaohsiung container port handles 2.48m teu in Q1
Taiwan's port of Kaohsiung recorded box volumes of 2.48m teu in the first quarter of this year, according to data from Kaohsiung Harbor Bureau.

The latest figures from the port authority showed that Kaohsiung port handled 863,850 teu of container boxes in March, an increase of 15.4% compared to February this year.

In 2013, the Taiwanese port achieved an annual throughput of 9.94m teu, a rise of 1.6% compared to 9.78m teu moved in 2012.

At present, Kaohsiung port has a maximum annual box handling capacity of 13m teu. The port is undergoing upgrading works to expand its container terminal handling capacity and port facilities.
