Keppel bags $150m in orders, bringing this year to $5.5bn
Keppel Offshore and Marine (Keppel O&M) has secured five contracts for FPSOs and FSO projects totalling $150m. The contracts are from Bumi Armada and Shapoorji Pollonji joint-venture Armada C7, as well as Apache Energy and EMAS AMC.

For Armada C7, the work, scheduled to complete in third quarter 2014, includes life-extension, the building of an internal turret mooring system, installation of topside process modules, as well as the upgrade of living quarters to accommodate 70 personnel.

For Apache Energy, Keppel will renew coatings, steel and piping systems, overhauling and upgrading of equipment on the FPSO Ningaloo Vision. Pre-fabrication work for this FPSO project has already started. The vessel is expected to arrive at the yard in 1Q 2014.

For Ezra Holdings subsidiary EMAS AMC, work includes the fabrication of an external turret for an FSO unit, scheduled for completion in 2Q 2014. Upon completion, the turret will be delivered to STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co Ltd in Korea for integration with the newly built FSO. The FSO will be deployed in West Africa.

Meanwhile China’s Keppel Nantong has secured two contracts from Smit Shipping Singapore, to build two submersible barges, Giant 5 and Giant 6, scheduled to commence construction in 1Q 2014. Giant 5 is slated for completion end 2014, followed by Giant 6 in early 2015.

“Keppel Shipyard's latest contracts bear testament to its extensive expertise and experience in Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) and Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) conversion, upgrading and repair works,” said Michael Chia, managing director Marine and Technology of Keppel O&M. “Meanwhile, Keppel Nantong's two new projects reflect its growing newbuilding and fabrication capabilities."

The new contracts represent an increase to $5.5bn in new orders year-to-date.
