Keppel delivers three ice-class OSVs for use in Caspian
Keppel Singmarine has carried out the naming and handover ceremony for three sophisticated, ice-class OSVs built for Malaysia-based offshore services provider Bumi Armada.

The offshore supply vessels were due to leave Singapore immediately this week for service in the Caspian, where they will initially be operated at Russian oil major Lukoil’s V. Filanovsky and Yury Korchagin oil-and-gas condensate fields.

Two of the vessels, Bumi Uray (pictured) and Bumi Pokachi, were built in China at Keppel Nantong Shipyard, designed to service and ensure the safety of offshore oil and gas facilities. They are equipped with DP2 systems as well as fire extinguishing and oil spill response (OSR) equipment, and carry RS class notation Arc4.

The third vessel, Bumi Naryan-Mar, is a more complex multipurpose rescue vessel additionally offering a 24-hour capability for rescue operations. Its higher Arc5 Arctic class notation from RS means it can operate effectively in winter navigation conditions as well as summer.

All three ice-class vessels are equipped with Transas T-bridge integrated Bridge Systems, including full navigation systems, external and internal communication systems, and CCTV.
