Kuma Shipping orders two PSVs

Kuma Shipping orders two PSVs
Hong Kong: Hong Kong-based Kuma Shipping has booked two platform supply vessels (PSVs) based on Ulstein's designs to be built at a Chinese shipyard.

The P128 design of Norway-based Ulstein features low fuel oil consumption and high carrying capacity, lending support to barges and rigs in a more economical way than the traditional offshore support vessels, according to Ulstein.

The 3,000-dwt, DP2-capable vessels are planned for delivery in 2014.

Each vessel's 610 square metres work deck can accommodate four lengths of 12-metre long casing pipes and is enclosed by plate covered crash barriers offering increased safety for crew and cargo.
