Maersk Line's throughput crosses 1m teu in Qingdao
Qingdao: Annual container throughput of Maersk Line at China's Qingdao port has for the first time crossed 1m teu, making the shipping line the first carrier to achieve such a substantial volume within a year at the port.

“Being the 8th biggest port in the world today, Qingdao port has been growing with an astonishing speed in the recent years,” said Tim Smith, ceo of Maersk Line North Asia.

Smith attributed the port's rapid growth to the advanced infrastructure, swift port productivity and reliable customer service.

Maersk Line, the world's largest container line, currently has 11 global services calling at Qingdao port. The Chinese port handled box throughput of 10.87m teu in the first three quarters of this year.
