MSC adds call at London Gateway on Europe-Australia route
MSC has added a call at DP World-operated London Gateway on its Australia Express Service, making the new fastest direct connection between UK and Australia, according to MSC.

Marked by the arrival of MSC Roberta on Friday, 7 August, the new service will call at London Gateway, Antwerp, Le Havre, Fos-Sur-Mer, La Spezia, Naples, Gioia Tauro, Port Louis, Pointe des Galets, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Colombo, King Abdullah and Valencia before returning to London Gateway Port.

“We are pleased to announce improvements to the Australia Express service in response to customer needs,” said MSC UK operations director Kelvin Wilden. “The Australia Express will now provide direct calls between DP World London Gateway and Australia, offering the fastest direct service in the market connecting Oceania with the UK and North West Continent.

“This service improvement will complement our competitive transit times to all other global destinations, using MSC’s vast transshipment network of services."

Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DP World chairman, added: “This service offers some of the most competitive transits to the UK, not only from Australia but also from Colombo in Sri Lanka. MSC are already operating the South Africa service into DP World London Gateway, so it is testament to the good work being done here, that MSC is willing to add another service into the port.”
