NCB said that Shamsul had replaced Ahmad Sarji Abdul Hamid, who resigned following the exit of AmanahRaya Trustee and Permodalan Nasional as the company’s shareholders.Shamsul is currently chairman of MMC Corp, whose unit MMC Port Holdings is in the process of taking over NCB.
Also appointed to the NCB board were Tradewinds (M) group md Mohammad Zainal Shaari, former Kedah chief assistant state secretary Moh Puat Moh Ali, and Idris Abdullah @ Das Murthy.The changes are a major shakeup on NCB's board, with all current board members resigning, including group md Abi Sofian Abdul Hamid. The only board member remaining is Che Khalib Mohamad Noh.
