New bunker firm Unicore Fuel launches operations in Singapore
Unicore Fuel, a subsidiary of Denmark’s Bunker Holding Group, has launched its operations in Singapore, the world’s largest bunkering port.

“Unicore is a purchasing organisation, purchasing all grades of bunker fuel in Singapore, Johor (Pasir Gudang) and Tanjung Pelepas. We cooperate closely with all oil majors, major independent suppliers and state-owned companies,” Unicore said on its website.

The new bunker startup is headed by managing director Ho Ting Teck, and general manager for trading and supply Andrew Siew Yew Hoong. Ho, a veteran of the marine fuel industry, had previously held managerial positions at Chemoil Energy and Consort Bunkers, both of which are licensed, or accredited, bunker suppliers in Singapore.

Unicore Fuel's Singapore office has employed 16 staff to cover the areas of bunker procurement, cargo trading, ex-wharf sales, hedging, operations and finance.

The parent firm Bunker Holding is represented by 34 companies across 24 countries, specialising in the purchase, sale and supply of bunker fuel and lube oil to ships, as well as risk management and associated services.
