Nova Tankers said it would cease doing business from 30 June “following development in partners fleet”.
The pool was founded in 2012 by Maersk Tankers, Samco, Mitsui OSK Lines (MOL), Phoenix Tankers and Ocean Tankers. Maersk Tankers fleet of 15 VLCCs has been making an exit from the pool following its purchase by Euronav earlier this year.
Following the break up of the pool MOL and Phoenix Tankers chartering will be handled by Phoenix Tankers and Samco spot trading will be handled by Samco.
“Nova Tankers will continue handling ongoing voyages and Maersk Tankers, on behalf of Nova Tankers, will assume the responsibility of collecting outstanding claims,” Nova Tankers said.
