NYK denies oil spill from VLCC in Tokyo Bay

NYK denies oil spill from VLCC in Tokyo Bay
Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) have denied media reports of an oil spill from one of its VLCCs while discharging at a terminal in Tokyo Bay last Friday.

NYK said the 306,206 dwt, Takamine was reported to have leaked oil while discharging at Keihin Kawasaki sea berth on Friday morning in Tokyo Bay.

“However, there are no indications that any leakage of oil occurred from this ship,” NYK said. “The vessel has subsequently sailed safely toward its next port.”
