OOS books two semi-submersible crane vessels at China Merchants yard
Dutch firm OOS International Group has inked a deal to build a pair of new semi-submersible crane vessels (SSCVs) at China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH).

The two SSCVs, named OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren, will be equipped with two heavy lift cranes, with a total dual lifting capacity of 4,400 tonnes per vessel.

The engineering and construction phase is estimated to be completed in the second quarter and third quarter of 2019 for OOS Serooskerke and OOS Walcheren, respectively.

“The achievement of this contract with CMIH Shipyard will provide the end-client with a bespoke solution for the oil and gas/wind market, resulting in significant cost reductions. Today’s oil and gas economics does not hold us back,” said Leon Overdulve, founder and owner of OOS.
