These issues include Indonesia's Public Works Ministry requesting a minor change to the railway foundation, as well as the fact that the train station is currently actually located outside the boundary of the terminal complex, and there is concern about the potential for additional fees, Maritime Coordinating Ministry spokesman Agung Kuswandono said.
"The foundation is currently under repair by KAI. As for the station, we need to change the terminal area documents," he was quoted as saying.
As the station is currently located outside the Tanjung Priok terminal area, Agung explained, freight could be charged with a double-fee and be forced to undergo a double administration process as all containers loaded to leave the terminal area are subject to a loading-charge.
Agung emphasized that ownership issues were not behind the problem, as the station was built on Pelindo II land. The discussion regarding the changes is said to involve the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), the Public Works Ministry and KAI.
