Pelindo II, HPH contract renewal for JICT declared transparent
Recent controversy over Hutchison Port Holdings' (HPH) renewal of its contract with Indonesian state-owned port operator Pelindo II for the Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) seems to have been cleared up somewhat with the Oversight Committee coming out to say that Pelindo II acted transparently in the process, local reports said.

The committee was established in 2013 to oversee the construction and operation of Jakarta's new Kalibaru Port and Pelindo II's contract with HPH.

"The contract renewal process was conducted transparently and in an accountable manner, which means it was not secretive and (Pelindo II) had reported the process to all stakeholders in charge of decision making," former deputy chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission Erry Riyana Hardjapamekas, who is a member of the high-powered committee, was quoted as saying.
