Pelindo II throughput up 22% in Q3
A 22% increase in overall vessel traffic at ports under its management pushed Indonesian state-owned port operator Pelindo II to a 9% rise in third quarter profit to IDR1.55trn ($112.3m) president director Elvyn Massasya was quoted as saying in local media.

He added that container volume rose 11% while non-containerised throughput also increased by 3%.

“This shows that the economic activity in the country is increasing, because more goods are now shipped overseas [through Pelindo II’s ports],” Elvyn said.

He added that the company was confident of meeting its annual revenue target of IDR10.56trn.
