Dubbed the RCL Pakistan Middle East (RPM) service by the Thai company the service will be operated by six vessels of 5,000 – 6,500 teu range.
The service’s port rotation will be Xingang – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Port Klang – Colombo – Karachi – Jebel Ali – Colombo – Port Klang – Singapore – Xingang.
The service’s maiden voyage will be on 17 November departing Xingang on a Gold Star vessel. It will be followed by vessels from KMTC, SM Line, TS Line, Gold Star Line and RCL in that order.
Charlie Chu, evp of business for RCL said the new service would be an industry first connecting Xingang to Pakistan and the Middle East.
“The RPM will allow more completeness to RCL’s pan-asia strategy in providing a comprehensive suite of shipping services to our customers who seek a strong Asia presence,” he said.
