Regional Container Lines (RCL) has reported a THB55m ($1.5m) profit for the second quarter, down from THB294m in Q2 2014, as container volumes fell during the period.

Overall, liftings fell 7% compared to the same period last year, to 443,684 teu. Shipper Owned Container (SOC) vessels liftings were down 10% at 205,967 teu, while Carrier Owned Container (COC) liftings decreased 5% 237,717 teu.

A disposal gain of THB7m was recorded for the sale of old containers, leaving a THB48m operational profit for the quarter.
