Designed by Shiptech in Singapore, the ships are due to be delivered by May 2016 and will be capable of carrying up to 80 personnel and various cargo to offshore installations. The ships are expected to server various fields and areas in the Caspian, including Guneshli, Chiraq, Azeri, Bulla, Pirallahi, West Absheron and Chilov.
The Baku shipyard is a joint venture between Keppel Offshore and Marine, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and the Azerbaijan Investment Company, with shares of 10%, 65% and 25% respectively.
