SapuraKencana Petroleum nets $713m in new deals
SapuraKencana Petroleum has announced a slew of MYR2.3bn ($713m) worth of drilling contracts and extensions from various big oil companies including Petronas E&P arm Petronas Carigali, Chevron Thailand Exploration & Production and BP Trinidad & Tobago.

Through its unit Petcon (Malaysia) unit, it was awarded two contracts by Petronas Carigali to provide its tender assist drilling rigs SKD T-9 and SKD T-10 for drilling operations offshore Malaysia.

The contract for SKD T-9 is for five years with an optional two-year extension effective from July this year to June 2019. The contract for SKD T-10 is for three years with an optional two-year extension effective from August 2014 to July 2017.

SapuraKencana Drilling Asia has also secured a contract from Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production for its tender assist drilling rig SKD T-18. This rig will be put to work on its offshore development drilling campaign in Thailand, although contract terms were not revealed.

Finally, SapuraKecana's Seadrill Jaya has sealed a contract extension to for its SKD Jaya rig with BP Trinidad & Tobago LLC to provide offshore drilling rig and services for its offshore development drilling campaign in Trinidad & Tobago.
