Sevan Drilling said in its half year results briefing it might cancel the rig newbuilding, or negotiate a later delivery date. The rig was originally due to be delivered on 30 April.
“As part of these negotiations, Sevan Drilling has entered into a standstill agreement with Cosco (Qidong) Offshore related to Sevan Developer's construction contract. Negotiations with Cosco continue and the company expects to conclude in the coming weeks,” Sevan Drilling said in an update.
