Singapore registered volumes of 3.15m teu in October, an increase of 6.4% compared to 2.96m teu seen in the same period of last year, MPA figures showed.
Last month’s throughput also rose by 5.3% compared to 2.99m teu handled in September this year.
In the first 10 months of this year, Singapore recorded a total throughput of 30.45m teu, up 9.8% from 27.73m teu posted in the previous corresponding period.

Singapore is the world’s second largest container port, behind China’s Shanghai port, which handled a total throughput of 31.4m teu in the first 10 months.
